Palace Avoid Drop
03 May 2010
Crystal Palace survived the threat of relegation this afternoon after a tense and enthralling final day encounter with Sheffield Wednesday. The Eagles needed a point to stay up, and Darren Ambrose scored the goal which proved decisive and ensured safety despite Darren Purse’s goal four minutes from time which led to a final score of 2-2.
Having secured a place in the Championship for next season, the next step must surely be to bring Selhurst Park back into the club’s ownership, in order to return some financial stability to Crystal Palace. Andrew says:
” As Palace fans we now need to keep the pressure on Lloyds Banking Group as the main bankers both to CPFC and the owners in administration of Selhurst Park to bring the ground back into the ownership of the club. Lloyds Banking Group did react positively to the 1000+ signatories who supported my petition on this matter but we do need as Croydon people to underline how important this matter is to our club. “
